Venus Legacy body-contouring treatments help to tighten loose skin, smooth wrinkles, and combat cellulite. It involves nonsurgical devices that use a combination of multipolar radiofrequency energy and pulsed electromagnetic fields to trigger a boost in natural collagen production.
For cellulite reduction, there is an additional suction component that reaches deep through tissue, to impact fat cells and improve the skin’s appearance, including minimizing stretch marks.
The in-clinic treatments are quick and virtually painless. Furthermore, there is no downtime.
Venus Legacy is suitable for all skin tones and types, with no risk of pigmentation changes.
A 2017 clinical study saw significant improvement in cellulite appearance, and 60% of those in the trial were satisfied with the results.
However, not everyone is a good candidate for Venus Legacy. An ideal patient is one who is at or close to their ideal weight and have only mild to moderately sagging skin with minimal sun damage.
It is also not suitable for patients with certain medical conditions such as an internal defibrillator or pacemaker, silicone implants or injections in the area being treated, metal implants, IUDs, in or around the treatment area.
The results rely on generating new collagen and elastin fibres, so the final results would not be seen until three or four months after the last treatment in a series. Most patients need an initial series of 6 to 10 treatments, every session done weekly, for optimal results. The results from an initial treatment series can last up to 18 months, thereafter the patient returns for quarterly follow up treatments for maintenance.
