Several studieshave shown that cysteamine can act as an effective skin depigmenting agent. In a patient with melasma, cells that are responsible for the production of melanin –melanocytes– become overactive, causing discoloration of the skin. Cysteamine tackles this symptom of melasma by inhibiting the overactivity of the melanocytes, in turn, decreasing the production of melanin and brightening the affected areas.
As a result of its special wavelength of 577 nm, the PRO YELLOW laser is effective in treating vascular conditions such as telangiectasia, couperosis, spider nevus, cherry angioma, venous lake, port wine stains, and red spider veins. Due to the lower melanin absorption (compared to 532 nm), it is suitable for treating darker skin types as well as requiring less fluence to achieve the expected results for hard to treat conditions such asmelasmaand rosacea.
